"ERASTIS" & "EROMENOS": ANCIENT GREEK LOVERS

|
In ancient Greece not all men were gay, however sexual relationships between men were tolerated by most hellenic city-states. The most common sexual relationship between men was that between a mature man - teacher "erastis" and an adolescent tutor "eromenos". Regularly sexual relationship didn't include anal penetration. After "eromenos" was becoming a man and getting married, the two men used to keep a relationship of deep respect, while it was his turn to become an "erastis" to another young boy.
